1000cc Formula 3
The Historic Grand Prix Zandvoort welcomes 1000cc Formula 3 for the first time in its five-year history. The series was back in the 1960s a stepping-stone for Jackie Stewart, James Hunt, Emerson Fittipaldi and Alan Jones to reach Formula 1 and to ultimately become world champion.
Classic Formula 3
The Classic Formula 3 is a championship eligible for F3 cars from the era 1971 to 1984. The Formula 3 was back in time, just like today, an important feeder series to Formula 1. Circuit Zandvoort has always been a battleground for European championship races. It counts many highlights, including a race in 1978 which was won by local hero Jan Lammers. Later on, he claimed the European championship title.
FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship
Formula 1 returns to Circuit Park Zandvoort! The FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship relives the golden era of Formula 1 races in the Netherlands. Cars from 1968 to 1985 will be seen at the track. Some of them participated during the final Dutch Grand Prix.
FIA Masters Historic Sports Car Championship
The FIA Masters Historic Sports Car Championship is known for its prototypes from the 60’s and the first half of the 70’s. These extraordinary vehicles have participated in races like the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The Gentlemen Drivers is a respected and popular racing series for historic GT cars and sports cars among drivers and spectators. The world famous Jaguar E-type and the AC Cobra will participate. The starting grid will mainly feature GT cars built between 1961 to 1965.
Grand Prix Cars 1961
The Grand Prix Cars from before 1961 is a feast for the eyes and ears. The cars from this era were equipped with an engine positioned at the front. Makes like Cooper, Maserati, Ferrari and Lotus were battling for the constructors’ championship at the time.
Grand Prix Cars 1961 – 1965
The Historic Grand Prix Association arrives with a field of beautiful single seaters like Formula 1 racers from the 1961 – 1965 timeframe. The era of legends like Jim Clark, Stirling Moss and Graham Hill will revive at Circuit Park Zandvoort.
NK GT & TC
The NK GT & TC is the Dutch national championship for touring cars and GT’s from the era 1966 – 1981. Especially for the Historic Grand Prix has the age limit been lifted to 1985. This series will complete two races during the event. The championship performs under the auspices of the Historic Auto Ren Club, organiser of the Historic Grand Prix Zandvoort.
Parade through centre of Zandvoort
A long time ago, it was common for Formula 1 to drive on public roads, from their temporary pit boxes in Zandvoort to the circuit and back. This tradition has been restored with the drivers’ parade through the centre of Zandvoort. Historic formula cars, touring cars and GTs will pass thousands of enthusiastic spectators on Saturday evening at 7:30 pm. Local motorsport stars like Gijs van Lennep, Arie Luyendijk and Jan Lammers have taken part in previous editions and enjoyed the atmosphere. The exceptional Grand Prix ambiance revives in the Zandvoort area.
Pre ’66 Touring Cars
The Pre ’66 Touring Cars offers a great overview of touring cars from 1966. The starting grid will feature vehicles like the Mini Cooper S up to a Ford Falcon.
Pre-War Sports Cars
Historic Grand Prix Zandvoort almost goes back a decade in time with the Pre-War Sports Cars. The field of legendary vehicles originating from the ’20s and ’30s include makes of Bugatti, Bentley, Aston Martin, Frazer Nash, Talbot and Alvis. Despite the age of the irreplaceable racers, a real competition takes place. Because of that, the series has become one of the public’s favourites!
Triumph Competition & British HTGT
The Triumph Competition & British HTGT, including the Dutch MG Competitions, arrives at the track with a varied ‘all British’ starting grid. Competitors take part in cars from makes like Triumph, MG, Austin Healey, Morgan, Marcos and many other British classic car constructors. Among the popular models are the MGA and MGB, Triumph TR4 / TR6 and Austin Healey. The organisation expects 45 to 50 cars to be lined-up on the grid.
